CONFIGURE TCP/IP |
You
need to configure your TCP/IP Networking so that it knows
you’re going to use your modem to connect to the Internet.

Click on Start, select Settings and then Control Panel
and double click on Network.

See
if TCP/IP Dial-Up Adapter is in the list of Network Components
(use the scrollbar if necessary). If it is, click OK.

Otherwise,
see if TCP/IP is in the list of Network Components (use
the scrollbar if necessary). If it is, click OK.
- Click
on the Properties button.

On the IP Address property tab, Click on Obtain an IP address
automatically.

On
the WINS Configuration property tab, click on Disable
WINS.
On
the Gateway property tab, Installed gateways should be empty.
If this is not the case then select one of the gateways
from the Installed gateways list and click on the Remove
button; repeat this processes until the list is empty.

On
the Bindings property tab, if File and printer sharing is
present and is selected then uncheck it.
- On
the DNS Configuration property tab, click on Disable DNS.
- Click
on OK to close the TCP/IP Properties window.
- Click
on OK.
- If
Window asks if you want to restart then click on the Yes
button.
